Murder Mystery Events

The themes for the mysteries are set in the art deco period and are aimed at corporate through to private events for up to 80 guests, set over a meal, a buffet, lunch, a day’s team building or a full weekend. There are several themes available. Each theme is available in different formats to suit your budget. All formats are hosted by professional actors working with an actor assistant or four professional actors depending on your budget.

• A Lesson in Murder

  What could possibly go wrong at a retirement party? Join us to find out as we go back in time to your selected venue, whether hotel or manor house, it’s where you become the detectives for the evening and help Archie Bauls to solve this scholastic murder mystery at your chosen Oxbridge hotel, college or even school.

• Murder in a Thymely Manor

  Whether your event is in a manor house or hotel you are cordially invited by your host, Lord Grantuss to join the celebrations at Thymely Manor. Which of your fellow guests has murder in mind?

• Links to Murder

  Join your host, Archie Bauls, who is in desperate need of your help to solve this golfing murder mystery! The perfect theme for your golf club event. Suitable for hotels, clubs and of course, the 19th hole!

• Signal to Murder

  Keep on the right track with gentleman traveler, Archie Bauls to avoid the signal to murder at Little Hampton station. This theme has been written to work in hotels, railway museums or railway stations or even actually on the train during a trip with dinner.

• A Shocking Murder

  All band members are suspects in this music business murder mayhem. As always, your host Archie Bauls is on the case. But what has happened to founder member and drummer Alastair Coghlan? Will the Status Quo be rocked?

• The Twelve Deaths of Christmas

  It's Christmas time once again in the village of Thymely over Actin and the locals are gathered to celebrate what should be the season of peace and goodwill. However, there have already been eleven mysterious deaths associated with the popular Christmas song and the villagers wonder who may be next.

• Masked Murder at the Halloween Ball

  Amid all the whimsical witches and fantasy phantoms, someone is about to cross to the other side for real! Will Sue-Anne Stichitt, the dressmaker get the needle with someone for not wearing their costume correctly? Your host Archie Bauls needs your help to unmask a murderer.

Murder Mystery Formats

Each theme is available in different formats depending on your budget and numbers.

HOSTED EVENT
Format: all the guests are suspects with their own new identities / Actor to run event with an assistant for up to 40 guests
GUEST ACTOR EVENT
Format: Three pre-selected guests to play the suspects / Actor to run event with an assistant for up to 65 guests
FOUR ACTOR EVENT
Format: Four actors will act out the chosen event / Murder mystery with four actors for 10 - 80 guests
THE WEEKEND EVENT
Format: Four actors will act out the chosen event over a weekend / Murder mystery with four actors for up to 80 guests over a weekend

Some things to consider when booking a Murder Mystery event:-

• How Many Guests?

We know from experience that an ideal maximum number is around eighty people. This way every team gets individual attention and will be able to follow the story line and get all the clues and information.

• Participation

Guests can participate as much or as little as they want. We appreciate that not everybody is a born entertainer so with our experience in reading an audience, we will not force people who look reluctant to join in. In the guest actor format we suggest you select outgoing people who are able to read lines from a supplied script and are game for a laugh.

The event, if over dinner, will last until the coffee is served so depending on how many courses you have, this will determine the time the murder mystery lasts. If over a buffet or drinks, we expect the event to last about 2 1/2 hours. We can change the timings to suit your event.

Guests are encouraged to dress for the theme selected, we find it makes it more fun for all concerned but don’t worry if you don’t, we would rather you were comfortable and enjoyed the event

• Are We Suitable For Your Event?

Our themes are what we would call ‘Carry On’ type humour, so it is suitable for children but probably best if over sixteen. We will pull back or further the style of comedy to suit the audience reaction.

The emphasis is on fun for all our events. You do need to concentrate to solve the murder and will need to follow the clues and information.
