A Tribute to Simply Red
Darren has been in the Music business since the age of 19 and is a very talented singer/songwriter and musician.
He started performing his tribute to Mick Hucknall in 1991 after appearing on, and winning, his heat in Granada Television's "Stars In Their Eyes". Darrens vocal tribute was hailed as "exceptional" and today is often mistaken for the real thing.
For the following two years his band "Wonderland (Simply Red Tribute Band)" performed at every working mans club in the North East of England, that lead on to touring the country to theme pubs, holiday camps and the caberet circuit.
Darren has been performing solo since 1998, and with Tania since the Millennium.
Performing live at many venues across the UK and abroad over the years has given him great experience working with every type of audience. Darren has performed at the Café Royale - London for the Arsenal Football Club at their Championship presentation, and also at The Commodore - Nottingham for Nottingham Forest's Premier League Promotion Celebration.
The show can be programmed anywhere up to an hour, where you can experience the greatest songs of Simply Red, from the beautiful ballads like... "Holding Back the Years", "If You Don’t Know Me by Now"...
to the mid tempo classics "Stars", "Say You Love Me"...
right up to the upbeat songs like "Fairground" and "Sunrise".
Darren is quoted to be the No.1 Mick Hucknall impersonator by the Simply Red Fan Club.
Darren is available as a double act with ‘Tania’ as “Cher” or as a solo performer.

Darren also now performs as Sonny Bono for the Sonny and Cher part of the show. It is a light hearted rendition of "I Got You Babe" which ends the show off to perfection.
