Nuages

Nuages are quickly becoming recognised as one of the country’s top jazz Guitar Duo’s.  Formed a little over 5 years ago by Ian Jackson and Steve Laming both professional musicians, the duo have played all over the country at Jazz festivals, weddings, private functions, corporate entertainment events as well as appearing live on the radio.

The music Nuages provide has it roots in the European Swing style of the 1930’s & 40’s.  Based around the guitars pace and style varies from hard swing songs like Limehouse Blue and Sweet Georgia Brown to subtle nuances of Ballads such as Nuages and Here’s That Rainy Day.

Additionally some more modern classics can be included, particularly for a background situation such as Isn’t She Lovely and Parisian Walkways.

The basic line up of the Duo is two Guitars, Semi acoustic or amplified acoustic, depending on the venue. With the use of just two small amplifiers the space required is small, and the set up time is minimal (Typically less than 10 min.)

Recent months have seen the augmentation of the basic Duo with Double Bass and an additional Lead instrument (Clarinet/Saxophone etc.). This provides the possibility to book Nuages as a Trio or Quartet, providing essentially the same selection of music with added depth, harmony and virtuosity.
