Trio Con Brio

Trio Con Brio

TRIO con BRIO are a fully professional light classical ensemble that provide musical entertainment of the highest quality for any occasion.

What could be more sophisticated and elegant than the blissful sounds of Mozart, the haunting melodies of Strauss or the toe-tapping rags of Scott Joplin as you enjoy your wedding, corporate event or private party?

TRIO con BRIO can provide a well-balanced repertoire of fight background music or perform a full classical recital suitable for the concert stage.

Lynne Woodhouse – Clarinet

Lynne was born in Jarrow, Tyne and Wear and started playing the clarinet whilst still at school. During her time at the Newcastle College of Arts and Technology she studied privately with Jack Brymer and was awarded the John Robinson Prize for Outstanding Musicianship.  Even during her course she was in constant demand as clarinettist, flautist and saxophonist for orchestral, chamber and theatre work throughout the North East.

A teaching post brought Lynne to the South West where she enjoys an extremely busy schedule playing with many ensembles.  Her versatility on all woodwind instruments has brought her work ranging from Wind Trios and Big Bands to Saxophone Quartets and Symphonic Wind Bands.  She has worked extensively on both BBC and Independent Television and on local radio.

Lynne’s wealth of experience as ensemble leader and musical director has lead her to launch TRIO CON BRIO as a way of bringing high quality chamber music to a larger audience.

Elizabeth Hayley – Pianoforte

Elizabeth was born on the Wirral and started taking piano and flute lessons at an early age. She studied piano at the Royal Academy of Music gaining high commendation in the Harold Craxton Piano Chamber Music Prize and winning the Harry Farjeon Harmony Prize.  She regularly takes part in master classes and has worked alongside John Lill, Alexander Kelly, Lynn Harrell, Robert Tear and Anne Sophie-Mutter.

Elizabeth’s skills as soloist and accompanist have taken her all over Europe.  Canada and the Caribbean.  She is now permanently based in the South West and is enjoying a busy professional career that takes her all over the country.

Christine Khoo – Violoncello
